Bruar Banvie
Where: Glen Garry and Glen Banvie
Distance: Between 5.0 miles (8.0 km) and 6.8 miles (11.0 km)
Grade: Moderate
Terrain: Mix of footpaths, forest roadways, estate roads, and public roads
Transport: Buses to House of Bruar, buses and trains from Blair Atholl, and buses from Bridge of Tilt
Alighting the bus in the car park at House of Bruar, this walk begins with a steep climb on good footpaths beside the spectacular Falls of Bruar. Crossing over the Bruar Water by means of one of two stone bridges, the climb continues along forest roadways through Glen Banvie Wood with a choice of options. The shorter route goes through Baluain Wood, whilst the longer route eventually turns into Glen Banvie at the edge between woodland and moorland. Both routes join below the folly in Whim Plantation and continue a gradual descent beside the Banvie Burn, heading either for the bus stop at Blair Castle, the railway station or bus stop in Blair Atholl, or, after a walk beside the River Tilt, the bus stop in Bridge of Tilt.
